The Mortal Kombat Release Date movie was moved back to April 16, 2021. It was due on the 15th of January.
Mortal Kombat was first adapted as a feature film directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, the director behind the Resident Evil series with Milla Jovovich. The film has received a total of $122 million worldwide and is generally regarded as one of the best adaptations of a video game.
The film directed by Simon McQuoid, is a reboot of the original Mortal Kombat series based on the iconic video game – following the commercial failure of the previous film, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Warner Brothers release it simultaneously on HBO Max and in theaters.
By the time Mortal Kombat is released, the original Paul Anderson-directed Mortal Kombat movie will be 26 years old. The new cast will include Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero and Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, along with director Simon McQuoid as project chief.
Earlier this month, Warner Bros. made a surprising announcement that 17 of his films, including Mortal Kombat, would be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max in 2021, much of the grief of the film theater chains.
Movie producer Todd Garner tweeted the poster of the film, as well as a pledge to release a trailer in the new year.
The HBO Max service has not yet been launched in the United Kingdom, but is scheduled to be available in the second half of 2021.
